Kegger's Brew
Stuff that I've Been Doing Musically
Hey Breeders,
Here are some of the musical endeavors I've been up to lately. In both groups I am not the principal songwriter, but just the dummer... er, drummer. Anyway, for your perusal:

Some basic info about both bands...
1.) The group is called Doc Talk Shock. They're a "noise pop" band based here in Dalian, China. The band's set-up is pretty cool: we've got two Chinese guitarists (one of whom sings... in English!), a Russian bassist, and myself, the Yankee drummer. An international band indeed. Last year we were signed to China's largest independent rock label (Modern Sky) and we played one of China's largest music festivals (the Strawberry Music Festival).
2.) This band is a pop band composed all of foreigners, also based in Dalian. Countries represented include France, England, Turkey, Slovakia, and the USA. The lead singer sings predominantly in Chinese, as well as offering up a popular Chinese song with French lyrics. This band was recently selected to be the official band of "Porsche of China" and talks were in the works about writing songs for their commercials.
Hope you guys can have a look and enjoy and spread the word!
Happy gaming.

Secondly, I've been pursuing some other interesting professional avenues. For those who haven't talked to me much in kin chat: I'm an English teacher at a university here in China, and although that's my official job, I also pursue some music and writing ventures on the side. One of my bands's debut album is almost ready to be released, after having been mixed by a dude who's also worked with System of a Down and Weezer (and I mean, actually worked with them... not "brought them a cup of coffee" or "was mopping the floor while they were recording down the hall").
The other band, after having our rehearsal space sold by the third party owners, has finally located another rehearsal space, so we'll be able to get cracking again soon. Last year, we played one of China's largest music festivals (the Strawberry Music Festival) and although it took place in Zhenjiang instead of Beijing (due to... More
